At an age when most children are still discovering the world around them, Sakshity Purendre discovered golf—and he discovered it at Qutab Golf Course. At just 2.5 years old, he picked up his first club on these very greens—and hasn’t let go since.
Today, at 13 years old, Sakshity is not just another junior golfer. He is one of the youngest Indians to have qualified for the Final Stage of the Tata Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2025—a feat that many seasoned amateurs and aspiring professionals struggle to achieve.
A Journey Rooted in Passion—and Qutab
Raised in a modest household in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, Sakshity’s journey began and continues at Qutab Golf Course, where he has trained consistently for nearly 10 years. For a decade, this historic course has been more than just a training ground—it has been his second home, his learning ground, and his launchpad.
His father, who runs a small cloud kitchen business from home, has been his biggest cheerleader. Despite financial challenges, the family never stopped believing. And at Qutab, Sakshity found the environment and encouragement to nurture that belief into performance.
Shining at the PGTI Qualifying School
In January 2025, Sakshity made headlines by competing in the Tata Steel PGTI Qualifying School at Golmuri Golf Course, Jamshedpur. In the First Stage (Pre-Qualifying I), he posted three remarkably steady rounds of 71-71-71 to earn his place in the Final Stage.

In the Final Stage, he held his ground against top professionals and elite amateurs. His four-day total of 290 (+6) with rounds of 74, 71, 71, and 74 placed him tied-73rd—an outstanding achievement for a 13-year-old amateur.
Backed by Belief: The Role of The Golf Foundation
A major force behind Sakshity’s journey has been The Golf Foundation, under the visionary leadership of Sir Amit Luthra.
Over the past two years, the Foundation has stepped in with vital support—providing financial aid, tournament sponsorships, professional-grade equipment, and most importantly, mentorship and belief. Their backing has helped Sakshity gain access to competitive platforms and rise through the ranks with confidence.
The Golf Foundation continues to be a beacon for promising young talents like Sakshity who simply need a chance to shine.
More Than a Golfer—A Story of Grit and Qutab Pride
A student of Class VIII at Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School, Sakshity balances school and sport with remarkable discipline. Fluent in Hindi, English, and Marathi, he remains grounded and focused. His goal? To become a professional golfer and represent India internationally.
Though his family’s means are limited, their dream is big—and Qutab Golf Course has been an integral part of that dream, providing a space for daily practice, mentorship, and inspiration. His journey is a testament to how community courses like Qutab can help unlock extraordinary talent.
The Road Ahead
Sakshity now looks forward to more tournaments, more learning, and more milestones. And as a golfer shaped by Qutab, his story serves as an inspiration for every young golfer walking onto these greens with a dream in their heart and a club in hand.
We are proud to call him one of our own.
