Tapendra Ghai clinches dramatic victory at PGTI’s prestigious INR 1 crore event held at Qutab.
New Delhi, April 18, 2025 – The Qutab Golf Course, one of Delhi’s most iconic public golfing venues, proudly played host to the prestigious Calance Open 2025, a Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) event that witnessed four days of high-octane golfing action from April 15th to 18th. With a prize purse of INR 1 crore, the tournament attracted the country’s top professional talent and marked a significant milestone in Qutab’s journey as a championship-ready course.
The event concluded in dramatic fashion as Gurugram’s Tapendra Ghai held his nerve with an even-par 70 in the final round to secure his second career title. Ghai’s consistent performance across four days earned him a winning total of 17-under 263, edging past strong contenders Arjun Prasad and Honey Baisoya, who finished joint second at 16-under 264.
Ghai, known for his composure under pressure, sank crucial par putts and delivered a game-changing chip-in birdie on the 11th to maintain his lead. His victory came with a winner’s cheque of INR 15 lakh and a significant rise in the PGTI Order of Merit.
The Calance Open 2025 also witnessed record-breaking performances as Delhi-based pro Kshitij Naveed Kaul set a new course record of 60, showcasing the high standard of competition and the immaculate condition of Qutab’s fairways and greens.
